I bought this new at Home Goods last week

I like that it is wood, I like the hinges, I like the shape.

I don't like the colors and the words.

It says, 'Paris Flower Shop' and that means nothing to me.

Since reading this post I have looked at home decor differently.

I want meaningful beauty in my home.

I've always been that way.

I never hang things on the wall just to have something there.

 I will wait.

I turned my flower shop sign into this:

More my style.

I'm sanded, painted, and rubbed it with stain.

I think it stills looks too new.

So I'm going to take it down and do

a little more scuffing up.

Old, antique and distressed reminds me of my mawmaw.

And that is meaningful to me.
