French Braid

I love French braids.
I think they are so classy.
Maybe it's because all the rich girls that
ride horses braid their hair.

When I was in elementary, the French braid was
what all the cool kids wore.
I had great hair for French braiding...long straight hair.
But my mom didn't know how to French braid.
My granny boo boo did. She used to babysit a lot of
kids. And everyday after nap time, she would braid all the
girl's hair. When I was there, I would get mine braided too.
I loved it.
One time, I remember having my granny braid
my hair and then I slept in it all night. I got up the next morning
and tried to smooth out the sides and spray it so that it would look okay.
Then I went to school (trying to 'fit' in)
My mom probably shouldn't have let me do that.
It probably looked terrible, but I didn't care.
And she couldn't have convinced me otherwise anyway.
I just wanted to be like those other girls.
The girls with the braided hair.
I have tried and tried to learn to French braid so I can
do Emma's hair, but I always failed.
Then something just 'clicked' and I did it!
I practiced on her for the whole movie night.
She didn't care for that, but I got okay at it.
I've braided her hair a few times for school and she looks so adorable.
Sometimes it doesn't turn out and we just throw it up
in a pony. But for this day it worked really well.

"Enjoy this moment,
For this moment is your life."
